Ford Ranger Bull Bar

Best Bull Bars for Ford Ranger

When you do a significant amount of off-road driving, protecting your 4x4 with a decent bull bar is essential.

If you are looking for the best Ford Ranger bull bar, we have sifted through the selection to pick our Top 5, whatever your budget.

Top 5 Bull Bars for Ford Ranger

1. Jungle 4x4 Full Loop Deluxe Bar

The Jungle 4x4 Full Loop Deluxe Bar offers a peerless mix of functionality, aesthetics and price.

Its 63.55mm reinforced tubing gives it reassuring durability and tensile strength, but the added functionality is what sets it apart from other bars in its price range: integrated fog lights and indicators, reinforced recovery jack mounts, dual aerial mounts, pre-drilled holes for driving lights and fully winch compatible.

You'll find many bars with much heftier price tags that don't boast that protection or anything like those features.

Price: $1890.00

  • Airbag compatible and ADR approved
  • Reinforced 63.5mm Tubing
  • Powder Coated Finish
  • Winch Compatible
  • Dual Aerial Mounts

3. East Coast Bull Bars Type 8

If you need a basic level of protection at a wallet-friendly price, the Type 8 is a solid choice.

At only 12kgs, you'll not need a suspension upgrade to accommodate this one, and it offers solid pound-for-pound protection.

The high-tensile alloy is rust-proof, and the welded spotlight mounting tabs on its middle horizontal tube (max 1.75kg/ tab) are a really useful addition.

Price: $1212

  • Powder-coated finish
  • Airbag compatible and ADR compliant
  • Spotlight mounting option
  • Compatible with Ford Ranger sensors
  • Lightweight
  • Lifetime warranty
  • Compatible with Ford Ranger Raptor

4. TJM Signature Bullbar

The Signature is TJM's alloy bar option, and although it's not the cheapest, we are a fan of the look and the functionality.

It has 8000kg-rated recovery points, a steel winch mount within the bar itself and "energy absorbing bumperettes", which disperse the initial shock all across the bar. And at only 60 kilos, it's a pretty light bar considering the features it packs.

The Signature also has two aerial mounts and will also accommodate driving lights up to 220mm.

Price $2999

  • Compatible with Adaptive Cruise Control, parking sensors and underbody protection.
  • Winch compatible, and steel winch mount within the bar
  • 8000kg recovery points
  • Two aerial mounts
  • At 60kgs, surprisingly light, considering its features.

5. Piak Elite No Loop Bar For Ford Everest and Ford Ranger PX2 and PX3

Although Piak's Elite No Loop is only compatible with the PX2 and PX3, it has a lot going for it.

Protection is the order of the day here, but it's not lacking for those added extras either: namely, those fitted fog and LED combination lights, THREE aerial brackets and an airbag compatible mounting system.

Its matte-black powder finish looks pretty tasty too!

Price $2695

  • Airbag-compatible mounting system
  • Fitted LED combination lamp
  • Fitted fog lamp
  • High strength steel
  • Three aerial mounts
  • Twin high lift jack slots

Different types of bull bars

If you're reading this, you likely know the benefits bull bars offer you and your vehicle. Not just the protection it gives the front end from off-road animal strikes but also from the debris rougher terrain inevitably sends that way too. And, of course, the mounting point for CB antennas, fog lights and those precious winches...

What you might not know, however, is the different options of bull bars available.

Though they can vary quite considerably in size and shape, most are made with steel or aluminium. The most common types are:

Single hoop

A single loop, attached to the bumper, goes over your grill to protect your radiator. The single loop is a popular compromise- much of the protection a bull bar provides, but with a lighter weight.

Triple hoop

The triple hoop is the other end of that scale- the heaviest bull bars but also the maximum protection. Naturally, these appeal to drivers most at risk of those costly collisions.

Bumper bar

The bumper is a basic level of front-end protection- not as durable as even the single loop, but better than total exposure.

Nudge bar

Nudge bars are even less so than the bumper. They offer little to no protection in the event of an animal strike but a popular with buyers who are going for the aesthetic appeal more than the practical.

Competition bar

Competition bars are usually just used for offroad comps, again not suitable for genuine protection against nasty animal collisions.

Baja bar

Baja's are also designed more for offroad competitions. These are similar to bumpers but with the added chassis reinforcement that enables them to be used with winches.
